New York Private Equity writes independent research reports for its members on private companies that are seeking to raise capital. It holds monthly research conferences in rooms at a private club in mid-town Manhattan at which a subset of these private companies are presented to investors. Our due diligence process incorporates some of the latest research strategies developed over the last ten years in the public equity markets and include objective filters such as the use of outside experts, focus groups, and prospectively defined quantitative screens.

Companies that we work with are interested in our methodical due diligence process rather than relying solely on a private placement memorandum. Our research reports include an honest analysis of the top three risks that investors should consider. Importantly, we outsource the opinion generation function by interviewing industry experts, surveying customers, and using the internet to find facts and ideas that investors might want to consider before investing. We do not include investment recommendations or target prices.

Our membership is composed primarily of private equity funds, hedge funds and wealthy (Angel) individual investors. Our goal with our research report product is to reduce the amount of time required for due diligence by 40 - 60%. Our reports are given first to our members so that they may have an opportunity to negotiate valuation one-on-one with the company if they choose. If members pass on a particular company, NYPE then uses the reports to recruit new investors, and potential future members, to our monthly meetings.

A core principle of New York Private Equity is improving the integrity of the investment process. Therefore, the firm only takes financial compensation from companies prior to investment decisions being rendered. We offer companies the option of having part of the transaction fee paid in the security that is being offered to investors. NYPE is devoted to the concept that full disclosure and careful analysis will lead to higher valuations, greater liquidity, and more efficient market places.
